Whole Home Renovation – A Complete Transformation for Modern Living

When Jared and Kiera reached out to Mitchell Contracting, they were ready for a complete transformation of their home. This project was a true top-to-bottom renovation — every square inch of the house was updated to create a brighter, more functional, and cohesive living environment.

Opening the Main Floor With Structural Wall Removal

One of the largest components of this renovation was the removal of both load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls. To open up the main floor and expand the kitchen footprint, our team installed a support beam, dramatically improving the flow and functionality of the home.

With permits approved, demo day was underway, and the transformation quickly began to take shape. The new open-concept layout brings in more natural light, enhances sightlines, and creates a main floor designed for modern living.

Rebuilding the Home From the Ground Up

Once the structural beam was installed, the Mitchell Contracting crew moved into the rebuilding phase, which included:

Full framing adjustments

Updated plumbing and electrical

Installation of drywall

New flooring throughout the home

Custom kitchen and built-ins

We worked closely with trusted trade partners to ensure precision and craftsmanship at every stage:

Chase Cabinetry – custom kitchen and millwork

Young Electric – electrical rough-ins and finishing

Acon Plumbing – plumbing installation and fixtures

Their expertise helped bring this full home renovation to life with exceptional quality.

A Completely Updated Home, Ready for the Future

The final result is a fully reimagined home that reflects Jared and Kiera’s lifestyle and design goals. With an open-concept main floor, improved circulation, and updated finishes throughout, this whole home renovation added comfort, value, and long-lasting style.

Mitchell Contracting was proud to partner with Jared and Kiera and to help transform their home into something entirely new.

We first met Brendan Mitchell when we went out to tender a total home remodel of our cherished 200 year old home in Old Town Niagara on the Lake...Brendan stood out from the other contractors almost immediately. When we met he took the time to inspect the house in depth and address any questions we had. Brendan’s interest and attention to detail was notable. We could tell he was sincere and had a real passion for his profession...Brendan was incredible to work with...We worked with Brendan and his team everyday over a 10 month period and never had any negative issues which is really saying something given the complexity of our project. He is a super talent. We highly recommend Mitchell Contracting.

We recently had our basement renovated, and we couldn't be happier with the results! Brendan Mitchell and his team were professional, detail-oriented, and incredibly skilled. They transformed our basement into a beautiful, functional living space that exceeded our expectations. The egress window installation was seamless. Mitchell Contracting ensured everything was up to code and provided thoughtful recommendations throughout the project. From start to finish, communication was excellent. We highly recommend Mitchell Contracting for anyone looking for high-quality work and a stress-free renovation experience. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

We hired Mitchell Contracting for an addition to our home, and to renovate an existing bathroom. Brendan was fantastic from start to finish. We had to change plans and he walked us through everything thoroughly and took care of all the city permitting (which was a huge bonus!). His quote and timelines were accurate and detailed. A big renovation can be stressful and his team did everything they could to make it as easy as possible for us. Once construction began his team was always professional, detail oriented, and left the workspace immaculate. Brendan and his team were able to turn our starter home into our forever home and we are so grateful and lucky! We will absolutely use them for any future renovations, and I highly recommend his services.

In March of 2020, we had a 1600 sq ft high, dry, and empty basement that we wanted transformed into a family gathering space, complete with kitchen, bath, and 2 bedrooms. Brendan started out with a blank page, and since we already had our design plan, he literally brought our plans to life! From the flooring to the tile to the custom cabinetry, to the specific drywall finishes we wanted.... the Mitchell Contracting team exceeded our expectations, which is pretty difficult, as we are particular.. The team was on time, clean, and communicate very well through each step. We highly recommend Mitchell Contracting to everyone we know. You will not be disappointed.

I hired Mitchell Contracting to renovate my bathroom, replace all of my windows and back door and I could not be happier with the results! Brendan is not only genuinely kind but is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of his work. He was very quick with all communication and was happy to make any adjustments so that everything was just as I imagined. Ryan and Dale did the bulk of the work on my bathroom - their attention to detail speaks for itself when you look at the tile work they completed. I would recommend Brendan and his team without hesitation, thank you for everything!

We recently had a 450 sq. ft. home addition completed by Mitchell Contracting and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The craftsmanship was exceptional — every detail was done with precision and care. The team kept the workspace remarkably clean throughout the entire project, which made a big difference for us since we lived here during the construction phase. Their communication was better than we ever expected — we were always kept in the loop and any questions we had were answered quickly and clearly. On top of all that, the pricing was very fair for the quality of work we received. Mitchell Contracting delivered a seamless, professional experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!
